Dear Friends,

The work of a government takes the strength of a campus. Run for United Student Government and become the leaders of tomorrow.

United Student Government will be hosting three information sessions next week to discuss the upcoming elections for the 2010-2011 school year. These are not mandatory but it is strongly encouraged that you attend.

The information sessions will be in McGinley 234 on :

March 1st at 1:00 PM
March 2nd at 1:00 PM
March 3rd at 7:30 PM

Additionally, if you know you want to run and would like to begin completing your candidate packet, you can pick them up at any time outside the USG office (McGinley 203). Please make sure to complete the Candidate Declaration Form PRIOR to getting any signatures.

The first mandatory meeting will be on March 10th. Completed Candidate Packets will be due at 7:30 PM in Keating 1st that night. Formal Campaigning as defined in the Election Code will begin immediately following that meeting.

USG Announces The West Wing: ILC for Ignatian Leadership & Civic Service

Dear Friends,

I am proud to announce that United Student Government, in collaboration with students from the CBA Dean’s Council, and the administration from Residential Life, CBA, FCRH has received approval for a new integrated learning community, to open in O’Hare Hall in the Fall of 2010.

The West Wing: Integrated Learning Community for Ignatian Leadership and Civic Service will provide students with a challenging and exciting learning-living environment that will connect such topics as international affairs, domestic policy, ethical business practices, corporate citizenship, and effective leadership. With interesting lectures from faculty and guests from the world of business and government, community projects, and focused programs, students will benefit from a one of a kind experience as “West Wing Scholars.” Please look for an application to be emailed shortly and join the Facebook page for more information.!/group.php?gid=227360778586&ref=ts
